Your Real Estate and Legal Specialist
TRANSITIONS....How did I get here?
Having spent 43 years as a real estate litigator and transactional lawyer, and after several major life events, I decided last year to “semi-retire” from the practice of law and focus my efforts on my life-long love: real estate. So, I sold my interest in the firm and, as of December 31, 2018, I am no longer involved in the day-to-day practice of law. I will continue to represent a few select clients as necessary, but that will likely diminish over time. Instead, I will be focusing on building and nurturing my real estate sales practice.
I’ve been involved in real estate since I was a boy. My dad was a broker. He had me change out the weekly “listing slips” in the listing book. (No computers back then). I remember him talking on the phone with one fellow, discussing how a particular house had at least $2,000 in equity, as if that were a big deal! (I had no idea what “equity” meant). Well, it was a big deal back then, when homes were selling for only $15,000. So, now I get to work in the field that I have always loved so much.
I have been a licensed real estate broker since 1980. I taught the real estate brokering course at both De Anza Community College and at San Jose State University, and I co-authored the text book for the course. During the course of my legal career, in addition to representing clients in hundreds of complex real estate sales and financing deals, I have also brokered a number of different types of properties, including residential, shopping centers, and industrial buildings.
I am really looking forward to helping a new set of clientele, and my old clientele, with their real estate needs. Should you find yourself in need of an experienced person in both real estate sales and real estate law, I hope you consider what I have to offer.
